The Sikky BMW E36 steering shaft assembly is designed with an extremely low profile to ensure header clearance. By using precision CNC components, it provides a highly rigid and responsive feel. When using a Sikky LS swap kit and headers, this low-profile steering shaft must be used to connect the E36 steering rack to the E36 steering column. This steering shaft assembly design eliminates the floppy rag joint used on the OEM shaft, removing the notorious sloppy and unresponsive feel of the OEM steering. This upgrade serves multiple purposes and makes an excellent addition to an E36 build, whether you are installing an engine swap or not. Includes two joints, a shaft, and hardware.

Special Notes:
Before ordering, please measure the diameter of your steering column and count the splines. BMW used several different steering columns on E30 and E36 models worldwide, and it has been found that some do not fit or are not the same as the ones this steering shaft kit was designed for. In some cases, even if the spline count and diameter are correct, there may be a point at the end of the steering column before the splines begin, which will need to be trimmed to blunt the end. The BMW steering column is also adjustable in length. In some cases, the end of the steering column will be closer to the rack. By loosening the lock nut near the steering wheel end of the rack, the lower end of the column (rack side) can be adjusted forward or backward to match the length of the Sikky steering shaft.
