PERRIN Front Mount Intercooler for 2015-2019 Subaru WRX
Our intercooler support beam is constructed from boxed steel and finished with a black powder coat. Installation of the PERRIN Front Mount Intercooler for the 2015-2017 WRX does not require the removal of the driver-side bumper beam support. The most critical component of an intercooler system is the core, which cools the charge air on its way to the engine. Subaru’s factory tube-and-fin intercooler is designed for ease of manufacturing, but it performs poorly. Our testing revealed that the optimal core design is a 3/8-inch bar-and-plate style with 3/8-inch charge air and ambient air paths, rather than the common 1/4-inch size. The PERRIN bar-and-plate core design is far more durable than tube-and-fin, capable of withstanding rocks and other debris that may enter the scoop. The PERRIN intercooler core measures 28 inches long x 9.25 inches high x 3.5 inches deep, with a volume of 906.5 cu-in. The PERRIN intercooler achieves the optimal overall design in terms of cooling and pressure drop. All PERRIN intercoolers are powder coated to provide further protection against the elements and to keep them looking great for years to come. Our intercoolers are available in two finish options: Bright Silver or Stealth Black powder coat.
The end tanks designed by PERRIN control nearly perfect distribution of hot air across the entire intercooler core. By eliminating 90-degree corners and adding a smooth, gradual taper from top to bottom, turbulence is eliminated. Each end tank incorporates innovative mounting tabs to secure the core to the mounting beam. PERRIN boost tubes are CNC mandrel-bent from aluminum tubing for weight reduction. All boost tubes feature oversized bead ends to ensure hose clamps and couplers remain connected and sealed. We selected the smoothest, shortest path to move air to and from the intercooler. A smooth offset coupler located immediately at the turbo carries the hot-side air charge into perfectly matched 2.25-inch boost tubes. We chose 2.25-inch tubing to achieve a smoother, cleaner, and unobstructed routing while remaining large enough to flow more WHP than most turbos can produce. Charge air is routed through the engine bay next to the battery and down behind the radiator to the intercooler. The cold-side boost tube is mounted as high as possible within the engine bay to clear all turbo and intake combinations as it travels through the engine bay to the throttle body.
PERRIN is one of the only intercooler manufacturers to pressure test every single intercooler. We pressurize every intercooler to 50 psi using our special fixture. This ensures that no leaks will occur in the core. Even the slightest leak can cause a loss of vehicle power and literally allow turbo boost pressure to escape the intercooler. The PERRIN Front Mount Intercooler kit includes a PERRIN washer fluid tank. Because of how the boost tubes are routed to the intercooler, the OEM tank competes for necessary space. The PERRIN washer fluid tank is finished in a black powder coat to protect against the elements. It looks great and features a stand-out silkscreened logo. The PERRIN Front Mount Intercooler kit also includes a PERRIN coolant overflow tank. It provides additional clearance to improve boost tube routing, holds more coolant than previous designs, and uses the OEM tank cap for a superior seal. The PERRIN coolant overflow tank is protected from the elements by a black textured powder coat.

In principle, all products are shipped internationally from our U.S. warehouse. Unlike domestic shipping within Japan, international shipping takes approximately 7 to 14 days, so please order with time to spare.
