Not compatible with most 2025 and newer models equipped with the mild-hybrid powertrain (B58N)

The BMW G2X / G42 B58 Eventuri intake has been designed to provide the least restrictive flow path to the turbocharger while keeping inlet temperatures low. Heat and volume are the two key considerations when designing an intake for a turbocharged engine. In the G2X M340i / M440i and G42 M240i, the intake system is located next to the exhaust manifold, exposing it to significant under-hood heat. If the intake air temperature rises, the turbocharger must compress less dense air, which prevents the engine from achieving its full power potential. Therefore, the only way to minimize IAT (Inlet Air Temperature) is to use a fully sealed intake. However, this creates an intake restriction because there is only one air inlet. During development, we identified a new opening in the wheel arch area and utilized it to add a secondary air feed to the airbox. Furthermore, the sealed airbox includes a gold-reflective heat shield to minimize radiant heat transfer from the exhaust manifold. To maximize airbox volume, we created a recess for the strut brace, allowing the airbox to be as large as possible. The stock convoluted intake tube has been replaced with a smooth carbon fiber tube. This tube also has a large internal volume, with an internal diameter that tapers smoothly from 111mm (4.4 inches) to match the turbo inlet. This tube provides a smooth path from the filter to the turbo inlet. Finally, we adopted a custom-made high-flow dry filter. This filter has been tested to ISO standards for filtration performance and has a larger filtration area than the stock filter.

The pre-preg carbon fiber airbox serves two purposes: sealing the filter from engine bay heat and providing a dual cold air supply. Since the airbox is positioned next to the exhaust manifold, it is essential to fully seal the filter. We therefore designed an airbox that encloses the filter while simultaneously maintaining a large internal volume. To seal the intake pipe, we designed a laser-cut plate with a rubber sealing strip that attaches to the airbox. The intake pipe passes through this plate, and the rubber seal prevents hot air from entering the airbox. Additionally, to minimize heat soak, we added a heat shield with a gold reflective layer on the exhaust manifold side, effectively suppressing radiant heat transfer.

Fully sealing an airbox creates the problem of restricted cold air supply. The standard airbox draws air from a single duct that extends to the front bumper area. During development, we identified the gap between the wheel arch and the chassis, where the airbox is located, as another location to draw cold air. We extended a scoop to the rear of the design to draw cold air from this gap. This scoop protrudes into the wheel arch and is visible even after the front wheel is installed. This second feed allows the turbo to draw air from a wider area, thereby reducing air resistance.

Eventuri Highlights

The G2X M340i / M440i / G42 M240i B58 Eventuri system utilizes our patented carbon fiber housing and bespoke Gen 2 filter, making the airflow from the filter to the turbo aerodynamically efficient. This is not just a cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that triggers the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow, thereby reducing turbo drag. Note:

The G2X B58 stock airbox system was updated in vehicles produced from November 2018 onwards, with the airflow sensor being replaced by a temperature sensor in the inlet tube. Prior to that, all airbox systems were equipped with an airflow sensor, so we offer two variations. The V1 intake features an inlet tube for a MAF (airflow) sensor, while the version for vehicles produced from November 2018 onwards includes a temperature sensor.

For G20 M340i / G22 G23 G26 M440i / G42 M240i

Each intake system consists of:

  • Carbon fiber airbox with dual feed
  • Bespoke high-flow dry cone filter
  • Carbon fiber inlet tube
  • CNC-machined temperature sensor mount
  • CNC-machined breather adapter
  • Gold-reflective lined heat shield
  • Laser-cut stainless steel brackets
  • OEM specification silicone reducer and clamps

Before Ordering

〇 Regarding Import Duties
At the Shaftoya shopping site, we pay the import consumption tax incurred at the time of import on your behalf, so there are no additional charges beyond the total amount paid at checkout.

Checking Compatibility
All product databases are based on North American vehicles (USDM). Please check whether the product is compatible with Japanese vehicles (JDM) before ordering. (If you are unsure whether the listed product is compatible with your vehicle, please feel free to contact us. Our support team will be happy to look it up for you.)
If you order without verifying compatibility, we cannot accept returns due to incompatibility.
Please note that even if items are sorted by selecting the year, manufacturer, and vehicle model in the tabs on our top page, this does not necessarily mean they will fit Japanese market models without modification.
All product descriptions have been translated into Japanese using translation software. As there may be confusing expressions, please contact us before ordering if you have any questions.

○ Regarding Delivery
Shipping costs are paid at the time of payment. Estimates for shipping costs are calculated automatically once you enter your shipping address on the checkout page. For large items such as body parts, there may occasionally be a significant discrepancy between the automatically calculated shipping cost and the actual cost. In such cases, we will contact you individually via email.

Basically, all products are shipped internationally from our warehouse in the United States. Unlike domestic shipping in Japan, international shipping takes about 7 to 14 days, so please order with sufficient time. If you are in a hurry, please contact us in advance to confirm delivery times. Note that all products are transported by air; they are not shipped by sea.

○ Regarding Japanese Vehicle Inspection (Shaken) Compatibility
All products we handle are basically designed and manufactured outside of Japan. Please note that they do not comply with the "Japanese Vehicle Inspection System," and we cannot provide documents such as strength calculation reports for Japanese inspection purposes. Therefore, all parts are sold for the purpose of "use on circuits, private property, or off-road," and installation and use are at your own risk.

○ Regarding Warranty
Please check the contents immediately upon arrival of the product. Since all products are shipped internationally from outside Japan, there may be shipping damage to the packing boxes or products. We will only provide returns, refunds, or replacement exchanges for products with shipping damage, defective products, or incorrect items if you contact us within 7 days of receipt. Please understand that for products sold through us, warranty-related support will be handled "exclusively through us."
