Both the 7M-GE and 7M-GTE were high-performance engines used by Toyota from the 1980s to the early 1990s. The only two Toyota vehicles equipped with these engines were the Toyota Cressida and the Toyota Supra. Both engines were highly advanced for their time. The 7M-GE was standard equipment in the Cressida from 1989 to 1992, offering significant power, excellent fuel economy, and proven reliability. The 7M-GTE is simply a turbocharged version of the 7M-GE offered exclusively in the Supra Mk III, making it the most popular engine among tuners. The engines featured a 3.0L 24-valve DOHC twin-cam setup, which provided ample power for both the Cressida and the Supra. The 7M-GTE is an inline-6, or "straight-6," engine. Both the 7M-GE and 7M-GTE were discontinued at some point after 1992, coinciding with the end of the Cressida in North America.
