Dry carbon is the highest-quality carbon fiber product available. The name "dry carbon fiber" comes from its manufacturing process. Dry carbon fiber is molded using "pre-preg" or impregnated carbon material. This carbon piece is first placed into a mold and then properly cured in a sealed vacuum environment (autoclave). This method results in the fewest impurities and creates carbon that is lighter than the wet method. The autoclave vacuum process used to manufacture dry carbon reduces pinholes and virtually eliminates air bubbles within the carbon.
