Manufactured to the same uncompromising standards as our bumpers, the ARB tire carrier features a robust towing system and, depending on the vehicle, can accommodate one or two tires or a jerry can holder. There are many benefits to installing a tire carrier. Many 4x4 vehicles have spare tires mounted underneath the vehicle, which are difficult to access and prone to damage, especially in harsh off-road environments. Other vehicles have the spare tire mounted on the rear door, which puts strain on the door hinges, leading to door rattles and a loss of seal that lets in dust. Additionally, these mounting methods may not be suitable when upgrading to larger tires. The ARB tire carrier solves all these problems by relocating the spare tire to a swing-out carrier on the bumper assembly. Operating the swing-out carrier is extremely easy. Simply apply light pressure to the lever, and the gas strut assists in opening the carrier. The strut holds the carrier in the open position, and the locking pin only needs to be engaged when the vehicle is on an extreme incline. Closing the carrier is as simple as swinging it shut, with the spring-loaded locking pin automatically disengaging when the load is released.
