Historically, Old Man Emu has recommended the reuse of original equipment (OE) bushes, washers, and crush tubes when upgrading suspensions with Old Man Emu struts and coils. This is acceptable provided the OE bushes are in good condition. However, market feedback has indicated an increasing need for replacement bushes due to the age of vehicles and the wear on OE bushes and washers. Old Man Emu engineers are pleased to have developed a line of replacement upper strut bushes, washers, and (where applicable) crush tubes for the most popular strut applications.
The replacement bush kits utilize the latest polyurethane technology to provide exceptional wear resistance, flexibility, and immunity to oil, grease, and degradation. These kits also include replacement heavy-duty washers and (where applicable) crush tubes, along with detailed installation instructions to ensure the correct alignment of all components during strut assembly.
Application guides have been updated to recommend the installation of the new bush kit part numbers, while noting that OE bushes may still be reused if they are in good condition.
