The protection for the ARB soft shackle's UHMWPE rope has been updated, with the UHMWPE synthetic rope now encased in a high-strength braided shield. This braided shield improves resistance to abrasion, providing additional protection for the UHMWPE synthetic rope against cuts and scrapes during use. To connect the large soft shackle, the large ball-end knot is passed through the open loop; when in use, the loop tightens around the knot and is pulled securely against the large formed knot during recovery. The knot will not come undone, and the loop tightens firmly around the knot to form a connection. The ARB Soft Connect Shackle is suitable for vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Mass of up to 3.5T, and it has a breaking strength of 14.5T. The ARB Soft Connect Shackle acts as a safety device during recovery, designed to fail before the rated metal components to which it is attached. This reduces the risk of flying metal debris during recovery operations, increasing the safety of those involved and the surrounding area. Soft Connect Shackles also provide flexibility for attaching straps to rated recovery points.
