Strong and reliable recovery points are essential for off-road driving, yet the lack of industry standards regarding rated tow points has caused confusion among four-wheel drive enthusiasts for many years. In light of this issue, ARB is striving to set an industry benchmark for the design, testing, and selection of recovery points.
ARB’s range of recovery points seeks to address issues common to standard tow points and their unsuitability for diverse recovery situations. These issues include questionable, untested mounting positions, confusion regarding the selection of rated shackles and straps, and the inability of typical tow points to safely withstand angled pulling forces when recovering a vehicle.
ARB aims to make it easy for every customer to find the optimal recovery point with an engineered "recovery train" featuring vehicle-specific recovery points that can be used with a 4.75-tonne (approx. 4,750kg) rated bow shackle and a 17,600lb (approx. 7,983kg) snatch strap.
