Old Man Emu brings racing technology to everyday adventures: BP-51 (bypass 51mm) shock absorbers feature innovative, patent-pending technology developed to achieve exceptional on- and off-road performance. Developed and rigorously tested under Australia’s harsh conditions, these large-bore bypass shock absorbers with remote reservoirs can be installed without vehicle modifications. They provide both comfort for city driving and superior chassis control and handling for off-road use through end-stage damping. Damping can be easily adjusted across a wide range of rebound and compression, enabling significant changes in vehicle performance and allowing for custom tuning to suit specific conditions and vehicle setups. The body, reservoir, and components are all made of 6061 T6 aluminum, featuring a Type 3 40-micron hard-anodized finish for excellent heat dissipation, corrosion resistance, and durability against stone damage. Designed, developed, and tested by ARB’s Old Man Emu ride engineering team, all BP-51 shock absorbers are manufactured in-house at ARB. To achieve this, significant investment was made in state-of-the-art machinery, ensuring full control over the manufacturing process and guaranteeing the highest quality.
