Old Man Emu brings racing technology to everyday adventures: BP-51 (51mm bore bypass) shock absorbers feature groundbreaking, patent-pending technology developed to deliver superior on- and off-road performance. Developed and rigorously tested under Australia’s harsh conditions, these large-bore bypass shock absorbers come with remote reservoirs and can be installed without vehicle modifications. They provide significant end-zone damping performance to achieve both a comfortable ride in the city and excellent vehicle control and handling off-road. Damping performance can be easily adjusted across a wide range of rebound and compression, allowing for custom tuning to match your vehicle setup and driving conditions. The body, reservoir, and components are all made of 6061 T6 aluminum, with a Type 3, 40-micron hard-anodized finish to ensure superior heat dissipation, corrosion resistance, and protection against stone damage. Beyond being designed, developed, and tested by ARB’s Old Man Emu ride engineering team, every BP-51 shock absorber is manufactured in-house at ARB. This enables the highest quality to be achieved through significant investment in state-of-the-art facilities and complete control over the manufacturing process.
