Old Man Emu brings racing technology to everyday adventures: BP-51 (51mm bore bypass) shock absorbers feature innovative, patent-pending technology developed to deliver unparalleled on-road and off-road performance. Developed and rigorously tested under Australia’s harsh conditions, these large-bore, position-sensitive bypass shock absorbers with remote reservoirs are designed for easy installation without the need for vehicle modifications. They provide a high level of ride comfort for daily driving while offering exceptional chassis control and handling off-road. Damping performance is easily adjustable for a wide range of rebound and compression, allowing for significant changes to ride quality. This enables custom tuning tailored to specific conditions and vehicle setups. The body, reservoir, and components are crafted from 6061 T6 aluminum and finished with a Type 3 40-micron hard-anodized coating to ensure superior heat dissipation, corrosion resistance, and protection against stone damage. Not only are they designed, developed, and tested by ARB’s Old Man Emu ride engineering team, but all BP-51 shock absorbers are also manufactured in-house at ARB’s own facilities. To achieve this, ARB has invested heavily in state-of-the-art machinery to maintain full control over the manufacturing process and ensure the highest possible quality.
