Old Man Emu brings racing technology to everyday adventures: BP-51 (Bypass 51mm) shock absorbers feature innovative, patent-pending technology developed to deliver unparalleled on- and off-road performance. Thoroughly tested in the harsh Australian environment, these large-bore bypass shock absorbers with remote reservoirs are designed to be fitted to vehicles without modification, offering a balance between a comfortable ride on the street and exceptional chassis control and handling off-road through comprehensive end-zone damping. Damping performance is easily adjustable for both rebound and compression, allowing for significant changes in ride quality and custom tuning to suit specific conditions or vehicle setups. The body, reservoir, and components are all manufactured from 6061 T6 aluminum and finished with a Type 3, 40-micron hard-anodized coating for superior heat dissipation, corrosion resistance, and protection against stone damage. Designed, developed, and tested by ARB’s Old Man Emu ride engineering team, every BP-51 shock absorber is manufactured in-house at ARB. This has involved significant investment in state-of-the-art machinery to maintain complete control over the manufacturing process and ensure the highest possible quality.
