The strength of the Air Locker lies in its pneumatically operated locking mechanism located inside the differential. When engaged, it prevents the internal differential gears from rotating, keeping the drive shafts from spinning independently. Because both wheels are directly linked to the ring gear rotation, maximum traction is maintained at all times. When disengaged, it functions as a conventional open differential.
