The advantage of the Air Locker lies in its pneumatically operated locking system housed within the differential. When engaged, it prevents the internal spider gears from rotating, thereby stopping the axle shafts from spinning independently of one another. By directly linking both wheels to the rotation of the ring gear, maximum traction is maintained at all times. When unlocked, it functions as a standard open differential.
