What is the maximum power rating of ACL Race series bearings?

An engine's power rating can be tuned in various ways, which in turn has different effects on the loads and stresses borne by the bearings. All of the following methods affect bearing load:

  • Increasing redline engine speed
  • Increasing turbo boost / cylinder pressure
  • Changes to timing and cam profiles
  • Use of lower viscosity oils or higher engine temperatures
  • Changes to crankshaft / connecting rod / piston design
  • Changes to cylinder dimensions (boring, stroke, deck machining)

As a result, it is only realistic to limit the issue to "maximum specific bearing load." This is the maximum load the bearing spreads across its projected area. For this, engine builders must understand peak cylinder pressures and balance these forces with inertial loads (acceleration of piston and connecting rod mass). Generally speaking, the material and design of ACL Race bearings allow for great flexibility in upgrading engine performance, with an excellent balance of strength and tolerance. The trade-off is that higher loads mean a shorter lifespan. ACL Race bearings are rarely used at their maximum output, but they perform well in everything from street machines where normal engine life is expected, to "Top Fuel" dragster engines where bearing loads are in the hundreds of MPa and life is measured in seconds.

This coating bonds at 20 millionths of an inch, so there is no need to change clearances, and it can even be buffed to "zero" tolerance while maintaining its properties. This coating significantly reduces power-robbing friction and actively maintains an oil film even after sitting for months or following oil starvation during high-G racing, minimizing the possibility of bearing seizure. A must-have item for those seeking bottom-end safety and longevity.

If you order without confirming compatibility, we cannot accept returns due to incompatibility.

○Regarding Delivery
Shipping costs are paid at the time of settlement. An estimate of shipping costs will be automatically calculated when you enter your shipping address on the checkout page. In such cases, we will contact you individually via email.

Basically, all products are shipped internationally from our US warehouse. Unlike domestic Japanese shipping, international shipping takes about 7 to 14 days, so please order with enough time to spare. If you are in a hurry, please contact us in advance to check delivery times. Note that all products are transported by air. They are not shipped by sea freight.

○Regarding Japanese Vehicle Inspection Compatibility
The products we handle are basically all designed and manufactured outside of Japan. Please understand that they do not conform to the "Japanese vehicle inspection system" (shaken) at all, and we cannot provide strength calculation documents for the Japanese vehicle inspection system.
