ACL Race Series Performance Engine Bearings
<エル>A unique combination of design, metallurgy, and engineering delivers what drivers expect from high-performance Trimetal engine bearings.
Features
<エル>- Designed to withstand higher RPM conditions. <エル>
- High-strength overlay plate with reduced thickness for improved fatigue properties. <エル>
- Hardened steel backs on all connecting rod bearings for improved bearing lining support and better retention in the housing. <エル>
- Increased crush for improved bearing retention. <エル>
- Elimination of flash plating on the bearing backs to improve heat transfer through the bearing shells and maximize grip between the bearing and the housing. <エル>
- Increased eccentricity to compensate for bore distortion at high RPM and to assist in the formation of a hydrodynamic oil film. <エル>
- 3/4 grooved main bearings to optimize bearing load-carrying surface area and oil flow to the connecting rod bearings. <エル>
- Tight and consistent wall tolerances for consistent clearances. <エル>
- Enlarged ID chamfer on bearing edges to accommodate large fillet radii on performance crankshafts.
What is the maximum power rating of ACL Race Series bearings?
<エル>Engine power ratings can be adjusted in many ways, each with varying impacts on the loads and stresses borne by the bearings. All of the following methods affect bearing load:
- Increasing redline engine speed <エル>
- Increasing turbo boost / cylinder pressure <エル>
- Changing timing and cam profiles <エル>
- Using lower viscosity oil or higher engine temperatures <エル>
- Modifying crankshaft / connecting rod / piston designs <エル>
- Changing cylinder dimensions (boring, stroking, or decking the cylinder head)
As a result, it is only realistic to limit the issue to "maximum specific bearing load," which is the maximum load the bearing distributes across its projected surface area. For this, engine builders must understand peak cylinder pressures and balance these forces against inertial loads (acceleration of piston and connecting rod mass). Generally speaking, the material and design of ACL Race bearings provide great flexibility for upgrading engine performance with an excellent balance of strength and forgiveness. The trade-off is that higher loads mean shorter life. ACL Race bearings are rarely used at their maximum output, but they perform well in street machines where a normal engine lifespan is expected, as well as in "Top Fuel" dragster engines where bearing loads are in the hundreds of MPa and lifespan is measured in seconds.
<エル>Ceramic Coating
Looking to reduce bearing friction and enhance anti-seizure properties? In that case, our advanced dry-film lubricant ceramic coating is exactly what you need. This coating bonds at 20 millionths of an inch, so there is no need to alter clearances, and it can even be buffed to "0" tolerance while maintaining its properties. This coating significantly reduces power-robbing friction and actively retains an oil film even after being left for months or suffering oil starvation during high-G racing, minimizing the possibility of bearing seizure. It is a must-have for those seeking bottom-end safety and longevity.
Before Ordering
〇 Regarding Import Consumption Tax
At the Shaft-ya shopping site, we pay the import consumption tax incurred at the time of import on your behalf, so there will be no additional charges beyond the total amount paid at checkout.
〇Confirmation of Compatibility
All items in our product database are based on North American vehicles (USDM). Please confirm whether or not parts can be installed on Japanese vehicles (JDM) before placing your order. (If you are unsure whether a listed product is compatible with your vehicle, please feel free to contact us. Our support team will check for you.)
If you order without confirming compatibility, we cannot accept returns due to incompatibility.
Furthermore, please note that even if products are sorted by selecting the year, manufacturer, and model in the tabs on our homepage, it does not necessarily guarantee that they will fit Japanese model vehicles without modification.
All products have been translated into Japanese using translation software. As there may be confusing expressions, please contact us before ordering if you have any questions.
○ Regarding Shipping
Shipping costs are paid at the time of checkout. Shipping estimates are calculated automatically when you enter your shipping address on the checkout page. For large items such as body parts, the actual shipping cost may occasionally differ significantly from the amount calculated automatically. In such cases, we will contact you individually via email.
In principle, all products are shipped internationally from our US warehouse. Unlike domestic Japanese shipping, international shipping takes about 7 to 14 days, so please allow yourself enough time when ordering. If you are in a hurry, please contact us to confirm delivery times in advance. Note that all items are transported by air. They are not shipped by sea.
○ Regarding Japanese Vehicle Inspection (Shaken) Compatibility
The products we handle are basically all designed and manufactured outside of Japan. Please note that they are not compliant with the "Japanese vehicle inspection system," and we cannot provide strength calculation documents for that purpose. Therefore, all parts are sold for the purpose of "use on circuits, private property, or off-road," and installation and use are at your own risk.
○ Regarding Warranty
Please check the contents of your order as soon as it arrives. Since all products are shipped internationally from outside Japan, there is a possibility that shipping damage may occur to the packaging or the product. We will only handle returns, refunds, or replacements if you contact us within 7 days of receipt regarding items with shipping damage, defective products, or items different from what was ordered. Please note that for products sold through us, warranty-related support will be handled "exclusively through us." We do not provide support through other companies or distributors located within Japan.
