Dual catch can kit for the 2017+ Honda Civic Type-R (FK8 and FL5). Includes two catch cans: one for the PCV line and one for the crankcase vent line. Features Radium's patented Fluid Lock catch cans.
Product Overview
A catch can is a system that separates oil mist and moisture contained in the blow-by gas generated inside the crankcase, preventing them from accumulating in the intake manifold. It prevents oil adhesion and pooling in the intake, intercooler, throttle body, and intake manifold.
By keeping the intake air clean, it provides the following benefits:
Increased effective octane rating
Maintenance/improvement of engine performance and response
Additionally, because this product is a sealed system, it prevents oil odors originating from the crankcase from entering the vehicle cabin. The kit includes all necessary parts for installation.
About Radium Engineering's Patented Fluid Lock® Catch Can
Since 2022, Radium Engineering has incorporated a patented "Fluid Lock®" structure into its 7-ounce (approx. 207ml) catch cans.
Conventional catch cans had the problem of oil backing up and flowing back into the intake if periodic maintenance (draining the oil) was neglected.
Fluid Lock® is a mechanism that prevents overflow even if the inside of the tank is full, ensuring that accumulated liquid is trapped.
This prevents engine performance degradation even during long-term use.
Features
Large diameter 10AN ORB inlet/outlet
Equipped with 4AN ORB drain port
Two-stage oil separation baffle structure
Level gauge with O-ring seal for easy level checking
Capacity: 7 ounces (approx. 207ml)
Built-in patented Fluid Lock® mechanism
Maintenance
The amount of oil collected in the catch can depends on the vehicle condition and usage.
After installation, please check the remaining level with the level gauge after 3–4 weeks of driving to determine the appropriate oil draining schedule for your vehicle.
Oil draining method:
Remove the bottom part of the tank and drain (it can be easily removed by unscrewing).
Easy drainage is also possible by using the optional petcock drain kit.
Examples of excessive oil accumulation inside the tank:
Increased blow-by due to engine wear
Overfilling engine oil
Defective PCV valve
Breather design / lack of baffling
