Product Overview
A catch can is a system designed to separate oil mist and moisture contained in blow-by gas generated within the crankcase, preventing them from accumulating in the intake manifold. It prevents oil adhesion and pooling inside the intake, intercooler, throttle body, and intake manifold.
By keeping the intake air clean, it is effective for:
Improving effective octane rating
Maintaining/improving engine performance and response
Also, because this product is a sealed system, it prevents crankcase-derived oil odors from entering the cabin. The kit includes all parts necessary for installation.
About Radium's Patented Fluid Lock® Catch Can
Since 2022, Radium Engineering has incorporated a patented "Fluid Lock" structure into its 7 oz (~207ml) catch cans.
Conventional catch cans have had the problem that if regular maintenance (draining the oil) is neglected, oil can backflow from the tank and flow back into the intake side.
Fluid Lock® is a mechanism that prevents overflow even when the tank is full, ensuring the trapped liquid remains contained.
This prevents degradation of engine performance even during long-term use.

Maintenance
The amount of oil that accumulates in the catch can varies depending on the vehicle condition and usage.
After installation, please check the level with the level gauge after 3–4 weeks of driving to determine your subsequent oil drainage intervals.
Oil drainage method:
Remove the bottom of the tank and drain (it is easy to operate as it can be unscrewed).
Easy drainage is also possible by using an optional petcock drain kit.
Examples of when excessive oil accumulates inside the tank:
Increased blow-by due to engine wear
Overfilling engine oil
Faulty PCV valve
Poor breather design / insufficient baffling
This catch can is designed to be installed under the factory engine cover, and installation is recommended at the engine mount area on the right side of the vehicle.
※ If using aftermarket engine mounts, modifications may be required.
This catch can is used by intercepting the crankcase ventilation (CCV) line.
At low engine loads, this line is near atmospheric pressure, but at high loads, a large amount of blow-by is discharged from the crankcase.
Left as is, this causes adverse effects such as:
Oil adhesion inside intake pipes
Oil pooling inside the intercooler, reducing heat exchange efficiency
Increased intake air temperature → loss of power
This catch can reliably separates this oil mist and moisture, keeping the intake/intercooler system clean at all times and preventing performance degradation.
Furthermore, the crankcase ventilation hose is routed over the top of the engine and secured to the turbine inlet with a heat-resistant metal pipe + billet clamp, offering superior heat resistance, durability, and layout.
