Product Overview
A catch can is a system designed to separate oil mist and moisture from the blow-by gas generated within the crankcase, preventing them from accumulating in the intake manifold. It prevents oil buildup and pooling inside the intake, intercooler, throttle body, and intake manifold.
By keeping the intake air clean, it is effective for:
Improving effective octane rating
Maintaining/improving engine performance and response
Additionally, because this product is a sealed system, it prevents oil odors originating from the crankcase from entering the vehicle cabin. The kit includes all parts necessary for installation.
About the Radium Fluid Lock® Catch Can
Since 2022, Radium Engineering has incorporated their patented "Fluid Lock®" design into their 7 oz (approx. 207ml) catch cans.
Conventional catch cans have had the issue where, if periodic maintenance (draining the oil) is neglected, oil can backflow out of the tank and into the intake side once again.
Fluid Lock® is a mechanism that prevents overflow even if the tank becomes full, ensuring trapped liquid remains contained.
This makes it possible to prevent engine performance degradation even during long-term use.

Maintenance
The amount of oil collected in the catch can varies depending on vehicle condition and usage.
Initially, check the level gauge after 3–4 weeks of driving following installation to determine the appropriate oil drainage interval.
Oil draining method:
Remove the lower portion of the tank and drain (the twist-off design makes this simple).
Easy drainage is also possible by using an optional petcock drain kit.
Examples of excessive oil accumulation inside the tank:
Increased blow-by due to engine wear
Overfilling engine oil
Faulty PCV valve
Poor breather design/baffling
This catch can is recommended for mounting on the passenger side (right side) firewall (bulkhead).
This catch can is used by intercepting the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) line. The functionality of the factory PCV valve is fully retained.
When the engine is idling, cruising at a constant speed, or decelerating, there is negative pressure in the PCV line, which would normally draw crankcase oil mist, unburned fuel, and sludge into the intake manifold.
Especially immediately after high-load driving, the intake of these contaminants becomes significant, leading to:
Intake fouling
Reduced combustion efficiency
Loss of power
Carbon deposits
By installing this catch can on the PCV line, these substances can be separated and collected, keeping the intake system clean at all times.
Furthermore, because the Radium catch can features a pressure-sealed construction, an additional check valve is not required in the intake manifold.
