Cobb Tuning SF Intake with Airbox for 2005-2009 Subaru Legacy GT
This intake and integrated airbox look great and combine the benefits of a short ram intake and a cold air intake, with no downsides. The system utilizes several unique features to maintain optimal flow for performance while minimizing turbulence that could cause engine management issues. It uses a CFD-designed velocity stack that leads to a custom conical cloth air filter element with a unique airflow straightener grid. This straightener grid is specifically designed to smooth the incoming airflow passing through the Mass Air Flow sensor, resulting in accurate readings. This eliminates "dead spots" experienced with other aftermarket intakes due to turbulence. No other aftermarket intake system for Subaru utilizes these critical design elements. To provide a system that looks as good as the technical advancements occurring inside, we have employed an integrated design constructed from high-temperature plastic composite. This not only reduces weight compared to previous metal designs, but the plastic composite also provides far superior thermal insulation properties, keeping intake temperatures low. In contrast, intake systems built using metal castings or piping can actually retain under-hood heat, resulting in heating the intake air.
The SF Airbox adds the benefits of a cold air intake to the excellent performance of the SF Intake. The factory intake duct directs cold air from the front grille into the SF Airbox, which surrounds the SF intake. It prevents hot engine bay air that robs horsepower from entering the intake system. Additionally, this unique design separates rainwater from the intake, eliminating water ingestion issues that plague fender-well cold air intakes. Calibration - All aftermarket intakes for 08+ Subarus require tuning to ensure the MAF sensor reads properly and the engine operates within safe parameters. All products are generally shipped internationally from our US warehouse. Unlike domestic shipping in Japan, international shipping takes about 7 to 14 days, so please order with enough time. ○ Regarding Japanese Vehicle Inspection (Shaken) Compatibility
Please note that all products we handle are designed and manufactured outside of Japan.
