Developed and rigorously tested in the harsh Australian environment, these large-bore, position-sensitive bypass shock absorbers with remote reservoirs can be installed without vehicle modifications, combining excellent on-road ride comfort with end-zone damping for superior chassis control and handling off-road. Damping performance is adjustable across a wide range of rebound and compression, allowing for significant changes in ride quality and custom tuning to suit conditions or vehicle setup. The body, reservoir, and components are all crafted from 6061 T6 aluminum, featuring a Type 3 40-micron hard-anodized finish for exceptional heat dissipation, corrosion resistance, and protection against stone damage. Designed, developed, and tested entirely by the Old Man Emu ride engineering team at ARB, all BP-51 shock absorbers are manufactured in-house at ARB’s own facilities. This allows for significant investment in state-of-the-art machinery and complete control over the manufacturing process to ensure the highest quality.
