Manufactured to the same uncompromising standards as our bumpers, the ARB tire carrier incorporates a heavy-duty towing system and, depending on the vehicle model, can accommodate one or two spare tires, or a jerry can holder. There are many benefits to mounting a tire carrier on your vehicle. In many 4x4 vehicles, the spare tire is located underneath the vehicle, making it difficult to access and prone to damage, especially in harsh off-road environments. Additionally, when a spare tire is mounted on the rear door, it puts stress on the door hinges, which can lead to rattling and a reduction in the sealing performance that prevents dust ingress. Both of these mounting methods can also be unsuitable when you want to equip larger tires. ARB's tire carrier solves all these problems by relocating the spare tire to the bumper assembly and mounting it via a swing-out carrier. Operating the swing-out carrier is extremely simple. With just a slight application of force to the lever, the gas strut engages and opens the carrier. The strut holds the carrier in the open position, and a locking pin only needs to be engaged or disengaged when the vehicle is on an extreme incline. To close the carrier, you simply tap it shut, and the spring-loaded locking pin releases automatically the moment the load is removed.
