In light of this, ARB aims to establish industry benchmarks for how recovery points are designed, tested, and selected. The ARB recovery point range aims to solve the issues surrounding generic tow points and their unsuitability for diverse recovery situations. These issues include questions regarding inadequately tested mounting locations, confusion in selecting rated shackles and straps, and the inability of generic tow points to safely handle the stresses associated with angled pulls during vehicle recovery. ARB strives to make it easy for individual customers to find the optimal recovery point for their vehicle through its "Recovery Train," which is designed for use with a vehicle-specific recovery point, a 4.75t rated bow shackle, and a 17,600lb (approx. 7,983kg) snatch strap.
