Our carbon fiber cold air intake for the VW Golf R MKVII is designed to draw more cold air into the factory turbocharger. By replacing the bulky factory air filter box with a carbon fiber pipe and a dry media filter, you achieve a cleaner look in the engine bay while efficiently drawing in outside air. The cold air intake kit for the MK7 Golf R significantly improves performance compared to stock and supports output up to 600HP!
The unit is hand-laid with motorsport-grade carbon fiber and utilizes materials that can withstand high temperatures. This sets it apart from common glossy clear-coated carbon products that are prone to fading and cracking.
The AMS carbon intake eliminates the engine bay vents found on the factory intake. The original design draws in hot air from the engine bay during startup and for fuel efficiency, which sacrifices performance. By fully opening the front grille and eliminating the warm air vents, the air drawn in is 100% cold air from the front grille.
Manufacturers often go to great lengths to muffle turbo noise, which acts as a bottleneck to horsepower. By boldly supplying the necessary cold air with the AMS intake, we significantly increase the output of your VW Golf R MKVII. The newly designed AMS large front duct is optimized to distribute air evenly around the entire intake filter. This results in uniform cold air distribution, reduced pressure drop, and extended cleaning cycles. Furthermore, the turbo's operation sound is delivered more directly, enhancing the joy of driving.
The use of carbon allows for a gradual and smooth curvature from the 3.5-inch filter outlet to the 3-inch inlet, eliminating intake resistance. It connects to the factory turbo elbow using the included 3-inch to 2.75-inch silicone hose.
This design allows for easy future upgrades to larger diameter turbo elbows or the AMS Performance turbo upgrade kit. You only need to replace the 3-inch silicone hose, avoiding the need to purchase unnecessary parts. AMS designs all products with the customer's ultimate goal in mind. This intake, along with the AMS intercooler and downpipe, are part of a complete system that works seamlessly with the AMS turbo kit.
No grille removal, cutting, or trimming is required, and it can be installed in minutes using basic tools! The dedicated, washable high-flow dry media filter is easy to maintain, unlike cheap disposable factory paper filters. This oil-free "dry media" filter allows for hassle-free cleaning, which is one of the reasons it is the best on the market.
The AMS synthetic media filter for the MK7 Golf R is a washable and reusable synthetic media filter (no oil required) designed and manufactured specifically for this vehicle model. It is optimized in size and shape to ensure sufficient intake volume for all MK7 Golf R models, including those with turbo upgrades, without compromising performance.

○Regarding Japanese Vehicle Inspection (Shaken) Compatibility
Please note that all products we handle are designed and manufactured outside of Japan. They are not compliant with the "Japanese Vehicle Inspection (Shaken) system," and we cannot provide strength evaluation documents for this purpose.
