Our unique combination of design, metallurgy, and engineering delivers exactly what drivers expect from high-performance tri-metal engine bearings.

Features

  • Designed to withstand higher RPM conditions.
  • High-strength overlay plate with reduced thickness for improved fatigue properties.
  • Hardened steel backs on all connecting rod bearings for improved bearing lining support and better retention within the housing.
  • Increased crush for improved bearing retention.
  • Elimination of flash plating on the bearing backs to improve heat transfer through the bearing sand and maximize grip between the bearing and housing.
  • Increased eccentricity to compensate for bore distortion at high RPM and assist in the formation of a hydrodynamic oil film.
  • 3/4 grooved main bearings optimize bearing load-carrying surface area and oil flow to connecting rod bearings.
  • Strict and consistent wall tolerances to maintain consistent clearance.
  • Enlarged ID chamfer on bearing edges to accommodate the large fillet radii of performance crankshafts.

What is the maximum power rating for ACL Race Series bearings?

An engine's power rating can be tuned in various ways, which in turn affects the loads and stresses placed on the bearings in different ways. All of the following methods affect bearing load:

  • Increasing redline engine speed
  • Increasing turbo boost / cylinder pressure
  • Changing timing and cam profiles
  • Using lower viscosity oils or higher engine temperatures
  • Changes to crankshaft / connecting rod / piston design
  • Changes to cylinder dimensions (boring, stroke, deck machining)

Consequently, it is only realistic to limit the issue to "maximum specific bearing load." This is the maximum load that the bearing spreads across its projected area. For this reason, engine builders must understand peak cylinder pressures and balance these forces with inertial loads (acceleration of piston and connecting rod mass). Generally speaking, the materials and design of ACL Race bearings allow for great flexibility in upgrading engine performance with an excellent balance of strength and tolerance. The trade-off is that higher loads lead to shorter lifespan. While ACL Race bearings are rarely used at maximum output, they perform well in both street machines where normal engine life is expected and in "Top Fuel" dragster engines where bearing loads are in the hundreds of MPa but lifespan is measured in seconds.

Ceramic Coating

Want to reduce bearing friction and enhance anti-seizing properties? If so, our advanced dry-film lubricant ceramic coating is what you need. This coating bonds at 20 millionths of an inch, so there is no need to change clearances, and it can even be buffed to "zero" tolerance while maintaining its properties. This coating significantly reduces power-robbing friction and actively maintains an oil film even after being left for months or after oil starvation in high-G racing, minimizing the possibility of bearing seizure. A must-have for those seeking bottom-end safety and longevity.

Before Ordering

〇 Regarding Import Consumption Tax
At the Shaft-ya shopping site, we pay the import consumption tax incurred at the time of import on your behalf, so you will not be charged any additional fees beyond the total amount paid at checkout.

Compatibility Check
Our entire product database is based on North American vehicles (USDM), so please verify compatibility with Japanese domestic market (JDM) vehicles before ordering. (If you are unsure if a listed product is compatible with your vehicle, please feel free to contact us. Our support team will be happy to look into it for you.)
If you place an order without confirming compatibility, we cannot accept returns due to incompatibility.
Please note that even if products are sorted after selecting the year, manufacturer, and vehicle model from the tabs on our homepage, it does not necessarily mean they will fit Japanese model vehicles without modification.
All products have been translated into Japanese using translation software. As there may be confusing expressions, please contact us before ordering if you have any questions.

○ Regarding Shipping
Shipping costs are paid at the time of settlement. Shipping estimates are calculated automatically when you enter your shipping address on the checkout page. For large items such as body parts, there are rare cases where there is a significant discrepancy between the amount calculated by the automatic shipping system and the actual shipping cost. In such cases, we will contact you individually via email.

All products are generally shipped internationally from our US warehouse. Unlike domestic shipping in Japan, international shipping takes about 7 to 14 days, so please allow yourself plenty of time when ordering. If you are in a hurry, please contact us in advance to confirm delivery times. Furthermore, all products are transported by air freight; they are not shipped by sea.

○ Regarding Japanese Vehicle Inspection (Shaken) Compatibility
The products we handle are generally designed and manufactured outside of Japan. Please be aware that they are not compliant with the "Japanese Vehicle Inspection System," and we cannot provide strength calculation sheets or similar documents for that purpose. Therefore, all parts are sold for the purpose of "use on circuits, private property, or off-road," and installation and use are at your own risk.

○ Regarding Warranty
Please check the contents immediately upon arrival of your product. Since all products are shipped internationally from outside Japan, there may be shipping damage to the packaging or the product. Please understand that we will only provide returns, refunds, or replacement exchanges if you contact us within 7 days of receipt regarding products with shipping damage, defective products, or products different from what you ordered. Please note that for products sold through our company, we only provide support regarding warranties "exclusively through our company." We do not provide support through other companies or distributors located within Japan.
