Old Man Emu integrates racing technology into everyday adventures: BP-51 (51mm bore diameter bypass) shock absorbers utilize innovative, patent-pending technology to deliver exceptional on-road and off-road performance. Developed and thoroughly tested in the harsh environments of Australia, these large-bore bypass shock absorbers feature remote reservoirs and require no vehicle modifications for installation, offering both a comfortable ride on city streets and superior chassis control and handling off-road. Damping performance is easily adjustable over a wide range for both rebound and compression, allowing for significant changes to ride quality and custom tuning tailored to conditions and vehicle setup. The body, reservoir, and components are all made of 6061 T6 aluminum with a Type 3 40-micron hard-anodized finish, ensuring excellent heat dissipation, corrosion resistance, and protection against stone damage. Designed, developed, and tested by ARB’s Old Man Emu ride engineering team, all BP-51 shock absorbers are manufactured in ARB’s in-house facility. This allows for total control over the manufacturing process through significant investment in state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring the highest quality.
