Old Man Emu brings racing technology to everyday adventures: BP-51 (Bypass 51mm bore) shock absorbers feature revolutionary, patent-pending technology developed to deliver exceptional on-road and off-road performance. Developed and thoroughly tested in the harsh conditions of Australia, these big-bore, position-sensitive bypass shock absorbers with remote reservoirs can be installed without vehicle modifications, providing both excellent ride comfort on city streets and outstanding chassis control and handling off-road through end-zone damping. Damping performance is easily adjustable for both rebound and compression across a wide range, allowing for significant changes in vehicle ride quality and custom tuning to suit specific conditions and vehicle setups. The body, reservoir, and components are all made of 6061 T6 aluminum with a type 3 40-micron hard-anodized finish, ensuring superior heat dissipation, corrosion resistance, and protection against stone damage. Designed, developed, and tested by ARB’s Old Man Emu ride engineering team, all BP-51 shock absorbers are manufactured in-house at ARB. This is supported by significant investment in state-of-the-art machinery to ensure the highest quality and complete control over the manufacturing process.
