Proper plenum function is directly linked to intake manifold performance. In the case of the GT-R, there are two plenums, one for each bank, and beyond precise capacity design, the shape that ensures an even distribution of charged air to each CNC-machined aluminum velocity stack is critical. Both lightweight carbon plenums are molded and tapered to accelerate the velocity of charged air while suppressing turbulence, streamlining delivery to the engine. We collaborated with aerospace experts to aim for an intake manifold that combines the highest level of strength and reliability. Constructed from aircraft-grade epoxy resin and carbon fiber layers, it ensures durability that exceeds industry standards. It has undergone durability testing simulating over 20 years of use by a typical GT-R owner, including 144,000 cycles in the 0-50 psi range under high-temperature environments. Finally, it was subjected to a burst test of over 150 psi, allowing it to withstand harsher environments than any other manifold on the market.
For high-output GT-Rs, we have provided mounting points on the manifold to allow for the installation of an additional Alpha fuel rail. This provides sufficient fuel supply for VR engines exceeding 2,000 horsepower. Fuel injector placement is critical for optimizing spray angle, fuel atomization, and efficiency. Our engineers designed a third rail system with these factors in mind. You have the option to upgrade from the standard two-rail Alpha carbon manifold to a three-rail system in the future.
