Hybrid Racing K-Series Idler Bracket/Pulley/Belt Combo
We are tackling one of the most common K-swap problems with a fresh look and some innovative ideas. Our idler bracket and pulley kit is designed to take the guesswork out of a reliable belt tensioner system. While most aftermarket setups currently available are ready to use, none take the time to ensure that your serpentine belt system is within the proper tension range. If the belt is too tight, it means excessive wear on all components; if the belt is loose, it risks coming off or slipping.
Our solution is simple. We keep the OEM belt tensioner and alternator in place. Our bracket can be used in place of the power steering pump, and our guide helps you find the right belt to fit the OEM system within the proper tension range. No more worrying about dropped alternators, belt walk, or charging issues. We have also modified the geometry to free up valuable space for improved hood clearance.
We have created two kits for the modern K-swap. One covers almost every engine sold in the US, Japan, and Europe, and the other is a kit specifically for the common JDM K24A engine.
HYB-IDB-01-02: This kit is the most commonly used setup. It is perhaps the most popular, as it fits almost every known K-Series water pump housing and engine. It is known to fit K20A, A2, A3, Z1, Z3, Z4, and K20A. For K24A1, A2, A4, and A8, it means you can achieve a bolt-on solution simply by measuring your crank pulley. With this kit, there is no need to modify the water pump housing or other accessory parts.
Hood clearance is improved, saving over 1.5 inches compared to the factory power steering pulley. It is also 0.5 inches shorter than the OEM EP3 idler bracket and pulley.
HYB-IDB-01-04: This kit was designed specifically to fit JDM K24A engines. This engine was never offered in the US, but it has become very popular among engine importers. The HYB-IDB-01-04 includes a specific spacer bracket designed for use only with this engine. Our research indicates that no such engine exists in the US, so other OEM options we tested did not work.
Our kit improves hood clearance by being 1.81 inches shorter than the factory K24A power steering pump.
How to choose the correct belt:
This kit does not include a belt, but we offer a bundle package including a belt if you wish. To determine which belt to use for your specific engine, you must follow these steps:
1. Identify the engine you are using. (K20 or K24)
2. Determine if you are using A/C.
3. Measure the outside diameter of the crank pulley.
4. Refer to the belt size chart to select the correct size based on your kit and crank pulley diameter.

Before Ordering
○ Regarding Import Consumption Tax
At the Shaftoya shopping site, we pay the import consumption tax incurred at the time of import on your behalf, so there are no additional charges other than the total amount paid at checkout.
○Confirmation of Compatibility
All product databases are based on North American vehicles (USDM), so please confirm whether the product can be installed on Japanese vehicles (JDM) before ordering. (Please feel free to contact us if you are unsure if the listed product is compatible with your vehicle. Our support team will look into it for you.)
If you place an order without confirming compatibility, we cannot accept returns due to incompatibility.
Please note that even if items are sorted by selecting the year, manufacturer, and vehicle model on the tabs on our home page, this does not necessarily mean they are compatible with Japanese-spec vehicles without modification.
All products have been translated into Japanese using translation software. As there may be confusing expressions, please contact us before ordering if you have any questions.
○ Regarding Shipping
Shipping costs are paid at the time of payment. Estimates for shipping costs are calculated automatically when you enter your shipping address on the checkout page. For large items such as body parts, there may occasionally be a large discrepancy between the automatically calculated shipping cost and the actual shipping cost. In such cases, we will contact you individually by email.
All products are generally shipped internationally from our U.S. warehouse. Unlike domestic shipping in Japan, international shipping takes about 7 to 14 days, so please allow plenty of time when ordering. If you are in a hurry, please contact us in advance to confirm the delivery date. Note that all products are transported by air. They will not be shipped by sea freight.
○ Regarding Japanese Vehicle Inspection (Shaken) Compatibility
Our products are basically all designed and manufactured outside of Japan. Please note that they do not comply with "Japanese vehicle inspection (Shaken) standards" in any way, and we cannot provide strength calculation documents or similar paperwork for the Japanese inspection system. Therefore, all parts are sold for the purpose of "use on circuits, private property, or off-road," and installation and use are at your own risk.
○ Regarding Warranty
Please check the contents of your order as soon as it arrives. As all products are shipped internationally from outside of Japan, there may be shipping damage to the packaging or the product itself. We will only handle returns, refunds, or exchanges for products with shipping damage, defective products, or products different from what you ordered if you contact us within 7 days of receipt. Please understand that for products sold through us, warranty-related support will be handled "exclusively through us." Please note that we do not handle support through other companies or distributors located within Japan.
