The advantage of the Air Locker lies in its pneumatically operated locking system within the differential. When activated, it prevents the internal differential gears from rotating, thereby stopping the independent rotation of the axle shafts. Because both wheels are locked directly to the rotation of the ring gear, maximum traction is ensured at all times. When unlocked, it operates like a conventional open differential.
