Traditionally, Old Man Emu has recommended reusing original equipment (OE) bushings, washers, and crush tubes when upgrading a suspension to Old Man Emu struts and coils. This is acceptable provided the original bushings are in good condition. However, market feedback indicates that replacement bushings are sometimes required due to the vehicle's age or wear on the original bushings and washers. Old Man Emu engineers have developed a lineup of replacement upper strut bushings, washers, and crush tubes (where applicable) for the most popular strut fitments. These replacement bushing kits utilize the latest polyurethane technology to provide superior wear resistance, flexibility, and resistance to oil, grease, and weather. Furthermore, replacement heavy-duty washers and crush tubes (where applicable) are included in the kit, along with detailed installation instructions to ensure that each component is correctly positioned when assembling the strut. Moving forward, the application guide will recommend switching to the new bushing kit part numbers, while also noting that OE bushings may be reused if they are in good condition.
