When it comes to off-road driving, a tough and reliable recovery point is essential, but the lack of an industry standard regarding tow point ratings has caused confusion among 4WD users for years. With this in mind, ARB aimed to set industry standards for the design, testing, and selection of recovery points. Issues include questionable and untested mounting positions, confusion over the selection of rated shackles and straps, and the fact that generic tow points cannot safely withstand the angular forces involved in vehicle recovery. ARB makes it easy to find the right recovery point with vehicle-specific recovery points that feature a pre-engineered recovery train designed for use with a 4.75t rated bow shackle and a 17,600lb (approx. 7,986kg) snatch strap.
