2007-2011 Honda Civic Type R Performance Shifter Cables by Hybrid Racing
Hybrid Racing shifter cables are a performance-upgraded replacement for the factory OEM cables. With solid rod ends, a 30% thicker cable core, spherical bearings, and aluminum end links, Hybrid Racing cables provide a firmer, tighter feel than OEM cables, reducing missed shifts and increasing the feeling of connection to the chassis.

Other notable features of Hybrid Racing cables include spherical bearings, stainless steel push rods, and an upgraded stainless steel swivel support tube (the OEM version is plastic), which is known to break on OEM cables. All rod ends and mounting bushings are CNC-machined 6061 aluminum, black anodized, and then laser-etched with the Hybrid Racing logo and flair.
Are these cables a direct replacement for the OEM Civic Type R FD2 shifter cables? Yes! They come with a new rubber grommet that fits the OEM Civic Type R shifter cable, so there is no need to reuse the OEM grommet. The stock cable that controls the side-to-side movement of the shifter has been upgraded from a plastic twist-lock bushing to an aluminum bushing and spring clip. This aluminum bushing simplifies installation slightly, but more importantly, it removes another plastic part that is prone to bending in OEM cables and leads to a sloppy shift feel. The additional spring clip required for the installation of the Hybrid Racing cables is included with the cables, so there is no need to purchase other parts.
What is included with these shifter cables? The kit comes with two shifter cables. Each shifter cable set includes two cotter pins, clips for the shifter ends, and a transmission selector lever spring. Each set also comes with a new rubber grommet that fits the hole in the firewall. Additionally, all shifter cables include an upgraded transmission gear selector spring. These are not required, but are recommended to further improve the driving experience. A heat protection sleeve is also included to protect against exhaust heat.
Please note: These shifter cables are made exclusively for the Japanese-spec FD2 Civic Type R. The K20A transmission of the FD2 Civic Type R uses unique shifter cable brackets, so a special set of shifter cables is required. These cables are not compatible with USDM-spec K20Z3 or Euro-spec K20Z4 transmissions.

As our entire product database is based on North American vehicles (USDM), please confirm whether or not they can be installed on Japanese vehicles (JDM) before ordering. (If you are unsure if a listed product is compatible with your vehicle, please feel free to contact us. Our support team will investigate for you.)
If you order without confirming compatibility, we cannot accept returns due to incompatibility.
Please note that even if products are sorted by selecting the year, manufacturer, and vehicle model in the tabs on our top page, it does not necessarily mean they are compatible with Japanese model vehicles without modification.

○ Regarding Delivery
Shipping costs are paid at the time of settlement. Regarding shipping estimates, they will be calculated automatically when you enter your shipping address on the checkout page. For large items such as body parts, there may occasionally be a large discrepancy between the automatically calculated shipping cost and the actual shipping cost. In that case, we will contact you individually by email.
All products are generally shipped internationally from our US warehouse. Unlike domestic shipping in Japan, international shipping takes about 7 to 14 days, so please allow plenty of time for your order. If you are in a hurry, please contact us in advance to check the delivery date. Note that all products are transported by air freight. They are not shipped by sea freight.
○ Regarding Japanese Vehicle Inspection (Shaken) Compatibility
Basically, all the products we handle are designed and manufactured outside of Japan. Please understand that they do not conform to the "Japanese vehicle inspection system" at all, and we cannot provide strength calculation documents or similar for the Japanese inspection system. Therefore, all parts are sold for the purpose of "use on circuits, private land, or off-road," and installation and use are at your own risk.
○ Regarding Warranty
Please check the contents immediately upon arrival. Since all products are shipped internationally from outside Japan, there may be shipping damage to the packaging or the product. Regarding products with shipping damage, defective products, or products different from your order, we will only handle returns, refunds, or replacement exchanges if you contact us within 7 days of receipt. Please understand that regarding products sold through us, we will handle warranty matters "only through us." Please note that we do not handle matters through other companies or distributors located within Japan.
