PERRIN 17-21 BRZ/86 AT Cold Air Intake System
The PERRIN BRZ/86 intake system is designed to position the air filter behind the front bumper, keeping it away from hot exhaust manifolds and radiators to ensure it constantly draws in cold, fresh air. Many competitors place the air filter under the hood, which draws in warm air and results in a loss of horsepower.
During normal partial-throttle driving, the PERRIN intake sounds relatively close to stock, but when under load, it shows its true colors, emitting a powerful, deep growl that lets those around you know your car is definitely customized.
The most important reason to purchase an intake is to improve your vehicle's performance. The PERRIN Cold Air Intake System has gone through numerous test versions to reach its final shape and specifications, resulting in increased horsepower without causing check engine lights or other drivability issues.
The PERRIN intake is designed after months of testing and tuning to ensure a safe air-fuel ratio (AFR) for your engine. The precise placement of the MAF bung is the key to the PERRIN intake's performance. Poorly designed intakes can cause your car to run dangerously rich or lean, potentially leading to engine failure or premature wear.
PERRIN intakes are powder-coated for protection against harsh environments, and the textured finish keeps them looking beautiful for a long time. The PERRIN BRZ/86 Cold Air Intake is available in black or red textured powder coat.
It features CNC mandrel-bent aluminum tubing with a 2.75-inch inner diameter (ID), smooth curves, and a precisely positioned CNC-machined MAF bung. There is a performance "pinch" just below the PERRIN logo that allows it to pass through the engine bay without any cutting or trimming.
The PERRIN intake filter element uses open-cell foam to effectively trap dust and dirt. The washable and reusable PERRIN foam filter element extends the life of your vehicle. Foam filters provide superior performance, boasting amazing dust-holding capacity without restricting airflow.
