The Skunk2 Cold Air Intake System for the Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, and Toyota 86 is manufactured from molded polymer plastic, providing superior intake thermal insulation compared to aluminum. The intake tube features a smooth, continuous taper that significantly increases the velocity of incoming air. Additionally, the thick polymer material forms an excellent heat barrier, significantly lowering intake air temperatures and greatly reducing the heat soak issues often seen with other intake systems.
The Skunk2 Cold Air Intake System is a true cold air intake that draws the coldest and highest-pressure air available. This is achieved by positioning the ram air box intake duct in front of the radiator, where the cleanest and coldest air is obtained. The ram air box is manufactured from cross-linked polymer, providing excellent thermal insulation and structural strength as a housing for the air filter. The Skunk2 Cold Air Intake System includes a Skunk2 Composite Velocity Stack, which utilizes race-proven technology designed to optimize airflow while maximizing velocity.
This design incorporates dimples on the inlet surface to extend the boundary layer into the mouth. The dimples increase the effective flow cross-sectional area, resulting in a higher total mass airflow compared to other velocity stacks. The tube’s smooth, continuous velocity taper reduces from an internal diameter of 96mm at the throttle body connection to 70mm. The cold air intake uses a massive 6.8-inch diameter double-cone filter element for greater dust holding capacity. The cone filter is washable, avoiding future expenses for filter replacements. The included MAF sensor coupler is compatible with the factory MAF sensor and allows for easy bolt-on installation. No cutting or modification is required.

In principle, all products are shipped internationally from our U.S. warehouse. ○ Regarding Japanese Vehicle Inspection (Shaken) Compatibility
All products handled by our company are basically designed and manufactured outside of Japan. Please note that they are not compliant with "Japanese vehicle inspection standards," and we cannot provide documents such as strength calculation reports for Japanese vehicle inspection purposes. Please check the contents immediately upon arrival. Since all products are shipped internationally from outside Japan, there may be delivery damage to packaging boxes or products. We will only provide returns, refunds, or replacements for items with delivery damage, defective products, or items different from what was ordered if you contact us within 7 days of receipt.
