The Mercedes A35 AMG Eventuri intake was designed to provide a less restrictive airflow path to the turbocharger while keeping intake temperatures low. When designing an intake for a turbocharged engine, reducing heat soak and increasing internal volume are the primary considerations. In the A35, the engine bay experiences rapid heat soak due to the proximity of the intake system to the exhaust manifold. This is critical because the turbocharger must be fed with dense, cool air rather than hot, low-density air. Therefore, the only way to minimize IAT (Intake Air Temperature) is to employ a fully sealed intake. To reduce air intake restriction caused by the sealed design, we relocated the ECU and increased the volume of the airbox. We also added an opening on the cold side of the airbox to prevent direct heat from the manifold. The carbon inlet tube features a structure that tapers from an internal diameter of 111mm (4.4 inches) to match the turbo inlet pipe, providing increased internal volume. Furthermore, we use a custom-made, high-flow dry filter that has been ISO-tested for filtration performance and features a larger filtration area than the stock filter.
Dyno Testing
Dyno testing was conducted by MSL Performance, a UK-based Mercedes specialist. A stock A35 AMG was tested sequentially with the OEM airbox and the Eventuri intake, while keeping external conditions identical. As shown in the chart below, this intake achieves performance gains across the entire rev range. The highlighted points indicate that the intake maintains a higher flow rate in the high RPM range where the stock airbox begins to become a restriction, resulting in significant power gains. This power increase is noticeable on the street through improved throttle response and faster acceleration times. On a tuned A35, even greater power gains can be expected as the demand from the turbocharger increases.
The Eventuri Difference
The AMG A35 Eventuri system utilizes a patented carbon fiber housing and a second-generation bespoke filter to provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbocharger. This is not just a cone filter with a heat shield; it is a unique design that induces a Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow, thereby reducing drag on the turbocharger. All products are generally shipped internationally from our US warehouse. Unlike domestic shipping within Japan, international shipping takes approximately 7 to 14 days, so please allow ample time when ordering. If you are in a hurry, please contact us in advance to confirm delivery dates. Note that all products are transported by air; they are not shipped by sea.
○ Regarding Japanese Vehicle Inspection (Shaken) Compatibility
All products we handle are basically designed and manufactured outside of Japan. Please understand that they are not compliant with the "Japanese Vehicle Inspection System," and we cannot provide strength calculation sheets or similar documentation for Japanese inspections. Therefore, all parts are sold for the purpose of "use on circuits, private property, or off-road," and installation and use are at your own risk.
