Product Overview
A catch can is a system that separates oil mist and moisture contained in the blow-by gases generated within the crankcase, preventing them from returning to the intake manifold. This prevents oil accumulation inside the intake, intercooler, throttle body, and intake manifold.
By ensuring cleaner intake air, it helps increase the effective octane rating by suppressing knocking, as well as stabilizing engine performance, improving combustion efficiency, and reducing exhaust emissions.
Additionally, because it is a closed system, it prevents unpleasant oil odors from entering the cabin. The kit includes all necessary parts for installation.
About the Radium Patented Fluid Lock Mechanism
In 2022, Radium Engineering introduced the new "Fluid Lock" mechanism for their 7 oz (approx. 207ml) catch cans.
A common issue with standard catch cans is that if the oil is not drained periodically, the tank can overflow and allow oil to flow into the intake side.
Fluid Lock is a patented structure that prevents overflow even if the tank is full, ensuring the trapped liquid is safely contained.
This prevents a drop in engine performance caused by oil backflow.
Features
Bolt-on design tailored to the vehicle (no modifications required)
Large 10AN ORB inlet and outlet
4AN ORB drain port included
Two-stage oil separation structure
Level gauge with O-ring seal for easy monitoring
Capacity: 7 oz (approx. 207ml)
Patented Fluid Lock system integrated
Maintenance
The amount of fluid collected in the catch can varies depending on vehicle condition and usage environment.
Please check the remaining level with the gauge after 3–4 weeks of driving to establish your personal draining schedule.
Collected fluid can be drained by:
Removing the bottom of the tank (a simple twist-off mechanism).
If space permits, it can also be drained using an optional petcock drain kit.
If excessive accumulation occurs, it may indicate engine-related issues such as:
Increased blow-by due to internal engine wear
Overfilled oil
Faulty PCV valve
Breather design or internal baffle deficiency
This kit mounts using factory mounting points with no interference with surrounding components.
The bracket is secured behind the driver-side headlight (left side), and the hoses use factory quick-connects, requiring no modifications.
The design also clears the factory engine cover.
This CCV catch can is installed between the crankcase ventilation line and the turbo inlet.
While pressure is near atmospheric at low load, high loads generate significant blow-by, and this system prevents oil from accumulating in the intake.
