Technical Notes:
The PRL Motorsports Plug ‘n Play WiFi Flex Fuel / Ethanol Content Analyzer Kit allows customers to wirelessly monitor ethanol content via any smart device or enable flex fuel via an optional 0.5 - 4.5V configurable output with a tuning device. Our innovative, patent-pending design utilizes factory fuel lines, eliminating the potential for alternative fuel line degradation and improving aesthetics. This kit utilizes factory plugs/outputs under the hood for power and communication to the ECU, meaning no additional wiring, cutting, splicing, wiring into fuse boxes, or running wires through the firewall into the cabin. All hardware and brackets are included for quick and easy installation. The kit can be installed and uninstalled within minutes. Please note that an ethanol content gauge is not used, as we believe it is unnecessary with our kit. Both Hondata and KTuner V1.2 offer Bluetooth functionality, and you can display ethanol content using the KTuner V2 LCD screen if desired. All components are ethanol compatible!
Did you know that factory fuel line assemblies are actually Teflon and highly resistant to ethanol-based fuels?

Factory fuel lines are actually composed of an EPDM (fuel and oil resistant synthetic rubber) outer hose and an inner ETFE (another Teflon coating similar to PTFE) liner, providing excellent resistance to various ethanol-based fuels. Because of this, there is no reason to "upgrade" or replace the factory fuel line assembly when using it with this ethanol content analyzer / flex fuel kit, provided it is not kinked or damaged (please note the "no-kink" warning on the line).
Why Use Ethanol?
With rising gas prices and the push for alternative fuel sources, ethanol—primarily derived from corn—has become a cost-effective and common fuel choice. Ethanol is currently available at most modern gas stations, and the community now understands the benefits of ethanol compared to gasoline, such as the fact that it burns cleaner, cooler, and is more resistant to detonation. These properties make ethanol a cheap alternative to expensive race fuels like race gas or methanol, especially for high-compression factory turbocharged vehicles. E85 = 85% ethanol, 15% gasoline; E30 = 30% ethanol, 70% gasoline, etc.
What is Flex Fuel?
In short, "Flex Fuel" allows an internal combustion engine to flexibly utilize one or more different fuels (usually gasoline mixed with ethanol or methanol fuels), with both fuels stored in the same common fuel tank. The Flex-Fuel system utilizes an ethanol content analyzer to measure the amount of ethanol in the fuel system and uses a converter to send this measurement to the vehicle's ECU to adjust instantly for different fuel mixtures.

Before Ordering
〇 About Import Consumption Tax
At Shaftoya Shopping Site, we pay the import consumption tax incurred at the time of import on your behalf, so there will be no additional charges beyond the total amount paid at checkout.
〇Confirmation of Compatibility
All product databases are based on North American vehicles (USDM). Please confirm whether or not it can be installed on Japanese vehicles (JDM) before ordering. (If you are unsure whether the listed product is compatible with your vehicle, please feel free to contact us. Our support team will investigate for you.)
If you place an order without confirming compatibility, we cannot accept returns due to incompatibility.
Please note that even if products are sorted by selecting the year, manufacturer, and vehicle model on the tabs of our top page, this does not necessarily mean they are compatible with Japanese-model vehicles without modification.
All products have been translated into Japanese using translation software. There may be confusing expressions, so please contact us before ordering if you have any questions.
○ Regarding Delivery
Shipping costs are paid at the time of payment. Regarding shipping quotes, they are calculated automatically when you enter your shipping address on the checkout page. For large products such as body parts, there may occasionally be a significant difference between the automatically calculated shipping amount and the actual shipping cost. In that case, we will contact you individually by email.
All products are generally shipped internationally from our US warehouse. Unlike domestic shipping in Japan, international shipping takes about 7 to 14 days, so please order with time to spare. If you are in a hurry, please contact us in advance to confirm the delivery date. Note that all products are transported by air freight. They will not be shipped by sea freight.
○ Regarding Japanese Vehicle Inspection (Shaken) Compatibility
Please note that all products we handle are designed and manufactured outside of Japan. They are not compliant with "Japanese vehicle inspection systems," and we cannot provide strength calculation documents or similar for these purposes. Therefore, all parts are sold for the purpose of "use on circuits, private land, or off-road," and installation and use are at your own risk.
○ Regarding Warranty
Please check the contents immediately when the product arrives. As all products are shipped internationally from outside Japan, there may be shipping damage to the packaging or the product itself. Regarding products with shipping damage, defective products, or products different from what was ordered, we will provide returns, refunds, or replacement exchanges only if contacted within 7 days of receipt. Please understand that for products sold through us, warranty-related support will be handled "only through us." Please note that we do not handle support through other companies or distributors located within Japan.
