BMW used several different steering columns on the E30 and E36 worldwide, and we have found that some may not be compatible or are not the same as those this steering shaft kit was designed for. In some cases, even if the spline count and diameter are correct, there may be a dimple on the end of the steering column before the splines begin, which will need to be trimmed to blunt the end. The BMW steering column is also adjustable in length. In some cases, the end of the steering column will be close to the rack.
