This not only reduces weight compared to previous metal designs, but the plastic composite material also provides much better heat shielding properties, keeping intake temperatures lower. In contrast, intake systems built using metal castings or piping can actually retain heat under the hood and heat up the intake air. The SF Air Box adds the benefits of a cold air intake to the superior performance of the SF Intake.
