The factory air inlet directs cold air from the front grille into the SF Intake Airbox, which surrounds the SF Intake. It prevents hot engine bay air, which robs horsepower, from entering the intake system, providing stable intake performance. Additionally, this unique design separates rainwater from the intake, eliminating the water ingestion issues that plague cold air intakes located in the fender.

This SF Intake Airbox kit includes a new Subaru OEM air duct that supplies fresh air directly to the airbox from behind the grille.
